Moneymax was developed by Dr. Kathleen Gurney over a period of six years and tens of thousands of surveys and interviews to help individuals better understand why they make the financial decisions they do and how they can better manage their finances. The 39-question survey takes roughly five minutes to complete. Ideally, the individual completes the survey on-line and provides an email address for the resulting "money personality" report. The advisor can also enter the results of a "paper" survey to receive the analysis.
The resulting 10-page report identifies the individual' key financial traits - their attitude and feelings about their money - and the group the individual most closely fits. By explaining how that group thinks and feels about money, the report helps individuals to gain understanding of their financial personality and how to make the most of their traits. The Money Action Plan takes each trait and challenges the individuals to take a proactive approach to improving their money management skills and become more effective in working with financial advisors.
